whats the basic minimum cost of living for an Indian family planning to move to Bahrain?
Am formulation to pierce from Delhi to Bahrain with family. Am being offering USD 4000, and car. What is the smallest saving i will be means to make. Also is it the great preference to live in Bahrain from the every day perspective.
First of all, and this is an honest answer – nobody will offer that much of a salary to an Indian National unless you posses an extra ordinary talent and you are required in extra-ordinary positions (i.e. Sr. Manager, GM, DGM etc.)
I would say it is a good offer for a Bahraini Job for a family of three. For 4 it’s almost break-even and for 5 it would be hard for you to meet both ends. Education will pull your expenses up.
USD 4000 is very common in Dubai for a mid management job. Almost this is the standard for low level management. But for Bahrain – this is a good offer.
As I said, it depends to the size of your family. You decide according to what I mentioned above and you can be sure they are true. Believe me.
Again with the Bahrain! Who’s recruiting you people? The U.S. military to Iraq? Seriously, the cost of living for new families living in Bahrain can be found at a number of sites including Yahoo itself. As to whether it’s a good decision to move or not, you’ll have to make that call yourself. 4000U.S seems low, unless it’s per week. 142.00 a day? Just stay in the U.S and you can make more money AND not have to worry about some crazed Bahrainian stealing your last falafel.
Oh, and Willie makes it all sound so high falluting and honest and respectable but he’s just playing it safe. Bottom line, say you’re American and ask for more. I can make 4000 a month working retail.
