My beloved as well as you wish to get out of Atlanta for about 3 nights/four days though do not wish to outlay a total time driving. We’ve suspicion of Hilton Head for a beach, though were wondering if any one had thoughts upon something closer to (but still not in) Atlanta. We’re in a 20s, so you need a place where there’s something to do! (We similar to bars though have been not unequivocally in to clubs/nightlife. We’d cite things to do during a day.) Any ideas?

MYRTLE BEACH! Perfect – beach, fun amusement parks, golfing, shopping, good food, jet skis, fishing, etc, etc.
5 hours driving away, just 30 minutes in a plane.

Head for the mountains. U.S. Highway 23 will take you to some cool places Like Tallulah Gorge, Lake Rabun, Asheville, then to Cherokee, a side trip into the Great Smokies, and on to Gatlinburg. It’s a great alternative to the beach.

if your into wine, i recommend wineries in the Dahlonega area. wine tastings are interesting. Helen, ga. has several nice places to stay and good shopping. you can also look up river rafting in the area (ocoee or nantahala). good luck.

Maybe Asheville, NC or if you want to go to the beach I would stick with Tybee Island/Savannah or maybe Hilton Head Island.

Go to Savannah. It’s about a 4 hour drive from Atlanta, but totally worth it. There’s a lot to do in Savannah, ton of bars, tourist crap, ghost walks, history, shopping, seafood, and it’s a short drive from there to Tybee Island, where you can go to the beach.
I visited there and Hilton Head last weekend — it’s about 45-60 extra minutes to get to Hilton Head, but the vibe was weird there. A lot of outdoor activities (golf, biking, beach, kayak, horseback riding, etc) but all the restaurants and stores are huge chains that you could go to anywhere.

go to Helen, GA and rent a little cabin up there. Great shopping, sightseeing, and usually you can gert a cabin with a hot tub, for a romantic retreat. I live in Roswell and me & my husband try to make a habit of taking weekends up there. We love driving through the mountains and just spending time together.
Helen is about an hour and a half from Atlanta
